I just posted another picture that I received of Ronnie and a buddy of his from Iraq. I posted it under the picture of the moment but it is also under Ronnie's Photos. If you have a chance post him a message on his support page. Whether you know him or not he loves getting messages!!
Yesterday was busy. My dad and sister (who is now feeling much better) came over to help Alan and I at getting our pool up for the second time. We worked so hard but I have to say using the right tracks on the bottom sure made a big difference! We used the tracks from the top of the pool last time on the bottom. Call us a couple of knuckle heads...LOL! Alan and my dad worked so hard. I did what I could to help. Anyways...everything looks great. The pool is up. We even filled it half way the first day like the directions said. I will fill it the rest of the way today. I just have to run out later today and get some more chemicals and my solar cover which should be in (was on backorder).
Tonight I have weight watchers. I have to say I haven't been really on target with that. I have maintained what I lost so far but that's about it. I really have to get on the ball again. This is a new week! My mom usually goes with me she lost alot of weight so far too and is looking teriffic. My sister Michelle just called me last night and wants to join. Hey the more the merrier. Makes it more fun and easier to do when just about the whole family is on it!
Tomorrow I go for my physical and then get my MRI results. So I will let you know how I make out. I've been doing pretty good the past few days with no headaches....nock wood... so we shall see.
Have a great day!! Hugs!!

Saturday we had my cousin Kathy and her husband Alan and son Michael come over. Alan (Kathy's husband) was coming to help my husband finish leveling the pool and put the pool up. The leveling went well....30 bags of sand later. Then they put up the pool. The weather started to get bad...very cloudy and windy. Well when they were about 90% done with the pool they realized that they used the wrong brackets on the bottom of the pool . Of course....they had to disassemble the whole thing. I felt so bad for them. They worked so hard and then had to take it down. Total bummer. They would of tried again but the weather at that point was so bad and the wind had picked up quite a bit...way to hard and it started raining. So tomorrow we are are going to give it a whirl. Hopefully it will be much easier. At least they were able to complete the hard part by leveling and building up the ground with sand.
Today I am pretty much relaxing and the kids are out in the yard enjoying the sand for one more day. They have their own mini beach to play with. My neice Ashley stayed the night. Her mom (my sister Lisa) is home with a nasty cold so at least it gives her a chance to relax a bit. She will probably stay the night again since her mom is coming here tomorrow.
So far it's been pretty crazy...and I wonder why I get headaches...to much stress!! Well I go to the doctor on Wednesday for my physical and results of my bloodwork and MRI of my head. Hopefully all is well. I don't really feel to worried. I think it will all be fine.
Alan's back is still really bothering him. Now how do you get your husband to go to the doctor. He just doesn't want to go. Men are so thick.
Hope everyone is having a nice holiday weekend. Hugs!!

It's raining again for 3rd day in a row!! Where's the sun??
Today we are just going to go out for a nice lunch and then tomorrow we will be going out to Milleridge Inn . I love that place and their Yankee Pot roast is my favorite....Yum!
Yesterday I went for my MRI. I hope everything went well. I started to get a headache again afterwards and by the evening it just became worse so I took what the doctor prescribed for me Relpax. It made me sleepy so I ended up in be by 9 p.m. and slept straight through till 7:30 the next morning when I had to get up to take David to school. I can't remember when I slept that long or went to bed that early.
Alan has been home from UPS for the past few nights. His back went out...again. He's not sure if he did it while digging out the circle in the yard for the pool we're putting in or if he did it while at work. Who knows may it was a combination of the two. He took a Vicodin for the pain but he said it really wasn't doing to much to help. He tossed and turned alot last night so I hope he wakes up feeling a little better today.
I missed American Idol last night but I heard Carrie won. I was hoping Bo would win but I am sure he will do well anyways.
I have also been working on our store website. We don't sell anything on it yet so it is mostly information, events, store hours, etc. Check it out if you'd like The Comic Book Depot .
Well got to run and get Brittany ready she has to leave for school in 20 minutes. Hugs!!

Well today I went to the doctor (see yesterday's post). Well it seems I have an infection in my lymph node. So I was put on a one a day antibiotic for the next 7 days to hopefully clear it up. As for my headaches I was put on a migraine medication if they flare up. So it will be better than popping 10 aspirins a day ... I surely don't need a hole in my stomach either. The doctor also wants me to go for an MRI of my head just to rule out any other problems. Let me say it better come back normal. She also took blood and will have the results back in a few days. I have another appointment to go back on June 1st for an EKG and a full workup. I haven't had a good physical in a while....in a long while. LOL.
My mom came to watch the girls while I was out at the doctor so when I got home we went and dropped Kaylee off for her pre-k class. This is her last week. Then we went to the diner for lunch. After we went to a couple of garden centers. I was looking for hanging plants this time. I found some really nice ones really big and full and my mom got a couple of more flats of petunias and a hanging plant too.
Well I'm gonna run. David keeps asking me to take him to blockbuster to get something.
Talk to you soon! Hugs and thanks again for the well wishes!!

Well since Friday I have been having some horrible headaches on and off and then around 3 am this morning I woke up with a lump behind my left ear. Most likely my gland. By this morning it had grown bigger and the swelling traveled down below my earlobe and along my jawline. It is so red and very tender and painful and now I can't turn my neck to the right...of course I noticed that one when I was driving to get my son from school. I called the doctor's office and will be going in at 9:30 am Wednesday morning. The only relief I have now is icepacks. I'm not even sure if that is the right thing to do or not but it makes it feel better ... maybe because it makes it feel numb.
Well other than that the day was pretty quiet. Alan was off today from the store so he spent some time working in the yard clearing a place for the new pool. Looks like it will take some time to get the ground level.
Going to try to get in bed now...let you know how I make out when I get back from the doctor.

Today we had our new roof put on. I think it came out really nice. My house doesn't look so dark now and now I can look at it without looking at the falling tiles. Here is a before and after shot. I took it while sitting in my car from the parking lot accross the street from our house so it's a little on an angle.

Woke up early considering I didn't get home till 2:12 am. We went out to Bennigan's for my moms birthday. There were 10 of us. Mom, Aunt Frannie, Carol, Aunt Maryann, Alison, Lisa, Colleen, LeeAnne, Michelle and Me! We had a great time as usual. I totally forgot my camera though...darn. It's so nice getting together with everyone every so often. We just think of a reason to go out for a ladies night!!
Today I am going to my cousin Colleen's Partylite Party. She went to my sister Lisa's last month so she is doing one today. Partylite is a little expensive but it's fun! I love candles!! That reminds me I have to go and make a pan of ziti for the party. There's alot of family going and since it's around dinner time we may as well eat. My mom is picking up a big salad from the Olive Garden and she's making a chicken dish. I was also trying to think of something for dessert I got this one from Weight Watchers it sounds good... I will let you know how it turns out:

Another happy event that happened on Saturday was my husband owns his own business called "The Comic Book Depot" well Saturday was also a national event called FREE Comic Book Day. We give away comic books in hopes to get people interested in reading and buying comic books. The local news called up his store and said they were coming down to do a piece on him so my husband Alan and my son David with many of my husbands customers were on the 5:00pm news. What great publicity for the store. It was so cool.
Sunday was quiet. I ran to the mall and picked up a little gift for my sister for mother's day a new perfume called Issey Miyake. We also ran to Lowes to pick up some pool wash sand for when we have to do the leveling for the pool we got for the yard. Alan was also supposed to cook me dinner but I felt bad my sister Lisa was sitting home alone on mother's day so I suggested that we go over and drop off her gift and pick up Italian food while we were there. The kids enjoyed getting together playing and enjoying new kitten.
Today so far has been busy. I had an appointment with Kaylee's Pre-K teacher. She just was going over how Kaylee is doing and recommended that she take a speech class next year. After I got out of there it was time for Brittany to go to school and then Kaylee and I ran out to Wal-mart to get some stuff for the kitten. Afterwards, I got a call from Alan saying that the roofer called and will be coming this Friday to put on the new roof. So I had to run to the bank and drop off a doposit. Wednesday they will be bringing the dumpster and supplies. Hopefully it will all look nice. Maybe I'll do a before and after shot if I remember. Well now I am off to start my roast chicken for dinner.
Talk to you soon! Hugs!

I am sitting up right now really sad. I was woken around 2:10 am this morning Friday, May 6th while Alan was at work at UPS. I kept hearing a thump noise in my little bathroom in my room. I looked and it looked like Dexter (our cat Dexter is a homeless stray we took in about 8 months ago) was trying to get comfortable to sleep in there. So I just put my head back down and was getting ready to go back to sleep when I heard the thump noise again. So I flicked on the light and he seemed to be having difficulty standing on his back legs and he was breathing very hard. I jumped out of bed and ran to him. He was struggling to breath and was extremely weak. I felt so bad for him. I was so upset because I just didn't know what to do for him and Alan was at work and I was having a hard time reaching him. Finally, I called my mom and dad My mom just said when she saw Dexter a week ago that she didn't think he looked right. I explained what was happening and mom ... who is a nurse... said it sounded like he was on his way out and there was nothing I could do for him except to try and make him comfortable so I got a soft towel and put it under his head. His right eye kept tearing terribly. He just kept trying to lift his head and I told him to stop trying to fight it and that it was time for us to say goodbye. I told him it was time for him to let go--that someone was waiting for him on the other side and that he will feel better again. I sat with him for 40 minutes when he seemed to have a seizure and then took a deep breath ... just then he started to breath very shallow. He just kept looking at me and I was just crying and rubbing him behind his right ear telling my little buddy that I love him. Then all of a sudden I could just feel like he wasn't there anymore. It was like the life you saw in his eyes were just gone. At 2:50a.m. Dexter died. I was sad but I was happy that he was at peace. It was just hard to watch him suffer. He seemed fine earlier...even begging for chicken at dinner as usual. Anyways.. Alan finally came home from work at 4:30am he was sad that Dexter had passed. So Alan and I cleaned Dexter up and put him in a box. This morning we got up and Alan dug him a hole behind our garage in the backyard. We said a little prayer and I read a poem. Then we each took a turn putting a little dirt on the box and said our goodbyes. Needless to say David was very upset so he ended up staying home today from school he was up all night crying. Brittany didn't have to be to school till 12:45 so she ended up going to school. I sure am going to miss Dexter. He came into our lives as a stray cat about 8 months ago. I never knew how sick he really was but I am happy we were able to give him a home for him to enjoy for the few months that he did have with us. Here is the poem we read:
Came into our lives 9/14/2004 -- Died 5/6/2005 at 2:50am
To have loved and then said farewell, is better than to have never loved at all. For all of the times that you have stooped and touched my head, fed me my favorite treat and returned the love that I so unconditionally gave to you. For the care that you gave to me so unselfishly. For all of these things I am grateful and thankful.
You took me in when I needed a home and someone to love. All I ask now is that you not grieve for the loss, but rejoice in the fact that we lived, loved and touched each others lives for however long I lived. My life was fuller because you were there, not as a master/owner, but as my FRIEND.
Today I am as I was in my youth. The grass is always green, butterflies flit among the flowers and the Sun shines gently down upon all of God's creatures. I can run, jump, play and do all of the things that I did in my youth. There is no sickness, no aching joints and no regrets and no aging.
I will await the arrival of you my faithful companion and I know that togetherness is forever. You will live on in my heart as I will in yours. Companions such as you are so rare and unique. Don't hold the love that you have within yourself. Give it to another like me and then I will live forever. For love never really dies, and you are loved and missed as surely as I am.

Anyways...were getting ready here to have a new roof installed on our house and garage. The one we have up there now is so bad. After this winter some of the tiles came loose and slowly more have come loose. I just want to get a few more estimates first and check out the companies with the Better Business Bureau. I can't wait. I think the house will look nicer too with the cedar color rather than the dark brown that is on there now. It will be a good change.
I am also still doing Weight Watchers. Tomorrow evening is weigh-in. Hopefully I did well. I've been very good with my eating. It's my 3rd week. I also went out and bought The Firm to workout with. I heard it's a little challenging so we'll see. I may give it a whirl tonight.
Talk to you soon! Hugs!
