Beautiful Spring Day!

55 degrees

Hello. what a beautiful spring day today. It may even go up to 60 degrees. Been kinda busy the last couple of days. So I haven't been on the computer too much. Yesterday, Alan and I ran around doing some errands. We also went to Target and then we picked up the kids from school and I had to take David for his orthodontist appointment. His teeth are looking really good. I also spent some time late last night looking for a replacement quit for my bed I have a set that I really like but because of my asthma I wash my quilt very often so it is just looking a bit worn. I just got an email this morning from a woman named Catherine from Simply Quilt Crazy and told me that the quilt isn't made anymore but she was able to find one for me when she called her connection. I am thrilled so I will be calling her and ordering that right away. This is my set:

Alan is still coming along. The doctor put him in a soft collar a couple of hours on and off each day because of the terrible headaches and the spasms he is having in his neck. Unfortunately,we have to wait another couple of weeks so that he can have an MRI to find out what is going on. He was told not to work at UPS until May 1st. Though if he is doing better at any point he can go back sooner.

Well I am going to get going. I have some things to catch up on and then I want to run out and pick up a few gifts for David and Brittany's religion teachers since this evening is their last day of classes.

I also have to get gifts this week for Alan and David. They both share the same birthday March 31st. Yup I gave my husband a son for his birthday 13 years ago!! Cool huh. So their birthday is this Friday. I know Alan wants a VCR/DVD recordable DVD Player. I saw one in BJ's Wholesale that he was looking at so maybe I will pick that up for him. David I know wants video games for his PSP handheld game and some DVD's. So that should be easy. We are all going to go out to the Movies on Friday night too. I think David had picked Ice Age 2. I guess I should watch Ice Age one before I go. LOL.

Have a great day!!

Starting To Feel A Little Like Spring

Good morning! Not a whole lot going on. The weather was just so nice yesterday. Alan and I got the kids off to school and went for a nice breakfast at IHOP. He is doing ok. He still has pain but hopefully it gets better each day. He see's the doctor again tomorrow. Afterwards, Alan had to go to the store to check on things so I decided since it was so nice that I would clean out my car. I haven't touched it in a couple of months really with it being so cold and with me not feeling well, it just never got done. Gosh the stuff the kids had in there...LOL. I am usually good too I usually always clean the car once a week. Anyways, I took it over and had it detailed and now it looks good as new. Then I ran to Wal-mart, found a couple of cute t-shirts for the girls and got some necessities. I had also picked up the attachment finally to my Ipod for the car. I love downloading books to listen too so when I am driving I can listen too. Plus, when I am parked waiting for the kids to get out of school, I can watch some of the TV shows I downloaded as well. I really like this Ipod alot. It was really worth the money.

I also got a cute siggie from Kathleen from her site Kathleens Graphics You'll see it as my siggie below. She also sent me another one with her duckies that has both our names on it. Thank you again Kathleen you are just so sweet and such a good friend. I am going to put it up on the right side of the page. Her duckie's are just so cute!

So that's really about all the excitement going on here. Tonight I plan on going out with my friend Alison, I think she wanted to take a ride into Manhattan maybe go to a Museum but I really don't like walking around there when it's too cold out at night it's just not good with my asthma. So we will see how the weather is going to be later. If not maybe we will just stay on the Island and go to dinner. It will just be good to get out.
Big Hugs!!

Happy Sunny Saturday!

40 F.

Hi, hope everyone had a nice St. Patty's Day yesterday. We didn't celebrate with the traditional St. Patrick's Day dinner yesterday because my mom and dad invited us today to their house to celebrate a belated St. Patricks Day and to have dinner. It's nice for us to all get together. It also looks like it is going to be a really nice day too. I'm feeling pretty good these days. Still a bit on the tired side but I know that is my lack of b-12 in my system. I'll know more when I go to get my blood drawn again at the end of this month.

Yesterday, Alan went to the doctor again for his neck. He has been out of work from UPS since. He loads the long trucks and if he were to be working it would just make his neck worse at this point. Anyways, he has been having really wicked headaches almost every evening. The doctor said that it could be from the swelling in his neck. He wants him to stay out of work for at least another two weeks. He is basically on short term disability. Alan went into UPS tonight and talked to his boss and brought his note. They are very strict there when it comes to going back to work after an injury. You need to have a full medical clearance to go back and you can't go back with any limitations. I sure hope his neck starts to feel some what better soon. I really feel bad for him. Just looks like he needs lots of rest.

Last night, I was messing around with Haloscan and finally figured out how to customize my smilies and make them clickable as well. Hopefully it continues to work. You wouldn't believe how much time it took me to figure out that one. But once I get started I can't put it down till I have it just right.

Have a great day!!

Top O' The Morning To Ya!!

37 F.

Happy St. Patrick's Day -- to all who celebrate. I'm sitting here watching the NY St. Patrick's Day Parade. What a beautiful day for it. I really got to to take the kids one year. I know they would love it.

Had the meeting to discuss Kaylee and her placement for next year. Looks like she will be repeating Kindergarten but she will be in an intense class that covers her disablities of speech and language. I think it is the best thing for her. She really needs these solid foundations before she can move on to first grade.

Today I got the David, Brittany and Kaylee all dressed in their green. The girls enjoy getting all dolled up. I can't say the same for my son. He said he just felt way too green. I just started humming ....it's not easy being green..... He just laughed. St. Patrick is also the Saint that David picked for his confirmation. So he will be David Scott Patrick. So all the more reason to celebrate today!!

Alan has another doctor's appointment today. He has been having some real wicked mingraine headaches along with the pain still in his neck and down his arm. I think that is all related to his neck injury from the car accident. Guess we'll see what the doctor says later.

Tomorrow we are going to my Mom and Dad's for dinner to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. I can't wait for the yummy corned beef dinner. I know my Mom has been busy baking her many loaves of Irish soda bread. I like it just without the raisins. Kaylee even brought a loaf in for her teacher yesterday and she just loved it!!

Well have some cleaning to do and some errands to run before the kids get home from school.

Enjoy your day!!

Hugs!!

Busy week so far

49 degrees Very windy!!

Well things are coming along. Alan is still in some pain from the accident. He has whiplash from the accident on Friday. The adjuster came on Wedesday to look at the car and said it looks like he will be totaling the car. I just hope we get something decent to put towards another car. I have been dealing with then insurance companies and hope everything turns out well and is done quickly.

This morning, Alan and I have a CSE meeting at school regarding Kaylee. She really has been struggling with her speech and language development. This meeting is to determine her placement for next September. She may need special services that are only available in another East Meadow School. So they will be going over that with us. It's good that she is young which is the best time to do all of this. She really will not have a clue. I think alot of Kaylee's delay in speech have alot to do with her two open heart surgeries over the past years. I feel it set her back. She really has been through so much. She did everything later than most children her age and maybe she just needs the extra time to catch up. I'll let you know how it goes.

The children had their religion classes last evening. They only have a few more weeks left. David has a retreat coming up for his confirmation class. He completed all his community service and was happy that he did. His confirmation is on Monday, May 15th.

I watched American Idol I had to Dvr it. I'm still routing for Kevin. He is a fellow Long Islander who lives just a few miles away in Levittown. He is in high school and his school gets together for AI nights to route for their fellow classmate.

Another thing I was happy to hear about was the death sentence set for the man who killed the Florida girl Carlie Brucia. I really don't know what my feelings are with the death penatly but this just seems like it was the right decision. My husbands very good friend Dave used to know Carlie's mom very well and even babysat Carlie until they moved down to Sarasota. He was so sad when he learned the news of Carlie and went down for the funeral.

Here is the story from News 12 Long Island.

FL man sentenced to death for murder of 11-year-old LI native Carlie Brucia

(03/15/06) SARASOTA, FL - A Florida man was sentenced to death Wednesday for the murder of 11-year-old Long Island native Carlie Brucia. Joseph Smith was also sentenced to two life sentences for her abduction and rape.

During a hearing last month, Smith had tearfully apologized for his crimes. He said he had taken heroin and cocaine in an attempt to kill himself before he abducted Carlie on February 1, 2004. A security camera recorded Smith's abduction of Brucia.

Brucia's father lives in Bellmore, Long Island.

Well going to run. I just want to relax in bed and watch some dvr'd stuff and catch some z's.

Hugs!

Miss Me??

70 degrees

Hello. I know it's been soooo long. I have not been feeling the greatest lately and just found it hard to blog at all. Guess I have been down in the dumps a bit. I didn't want to have to blog all about it so I just stayed away from the computer. I really appreciate the messages you all left for me. Sorry I have been so lousy to answer back. I'm trying to get myself back on track. One day at a time I suppose.

Anyways today wasn't too great..Except for the wonderful weather that is.

Alan my husband got into a car accident right in front of our house at 9:10 a.m. He was just coming home from dropping off the girls at school and had just signaled to turn right into our driveway ... I was sitting in our dining room and could see out to the front...anyways. I heard a very loud screech and it made me stand right up. I looked right outside as the boom (crash) occurred. I saw a tail end of a blue car push forward and a black Mazda with alot of front end damage. I saw a guy jump out of the Mazda ...he also forgot to put the car into park so his car was starting to roll. I was yelling to him to put his car into park and then he finally caught up with it and did so. I was getting ready to turn around and call 911 but I noticed he was calling someone from his cell. I was in my pj's still so I didn't run outside. Just then my husband popped his head in the front door and said there was an accident in front of our house. I said yeah I know and he said yeah I was the one who was hit. It turns out Alan was the car that I caught the tail end of never thinking it was him. He was pushed all the way to my next door neighbor’s driveway which was out of eye site of my front door which is why I didn't notice it was Alan right away. I threw on some sweats and grabbed my camera and ran outside. I took lots of pics.

Here are some: :Click Here to view pictures:

The police showed up and thankfully no one was badly injured. It looks like when Alan was stopped and waiting to turn into our driveway the young guy traveling behind him said he had turned away to look at something and by the time he looked up it was too late. Also the driver who hit my husband was driving a rental car because his car was in the shop being repaired from a previous accident from the week before. He suffered from some burns on his arm from the airbag deploying. Alan had his neck jolt forward and back so he was feeling a little stiffness at the time. He told the police officer so that that would be notated in the report. He refused to go to the hospital so I insisted he be seen for an x-ray right away at the doctor's office. It came back as whip lash and some possible nerve damage down to his right arm. He was told to take the night off from UPS tonight so he could rest and keep ice on his neck. He goes back to the doctor on Monday so hopefully he is feeling much better. We were told they may just total our car which sucks because we can't afford another car right now and what they would give to total the car would not be enough to buy something... but we'll have to see come Monday when I talk to the adjuster for the Entiprise Rental Company (the company the young guy driver was using) Alan drives my old 1992 Honda. I have the 2004 Toyota Sienna so at least we have something. I may just have to drive him back and forth to work for a bit though.

I just wish our luck would change. Everything is so depressing lately. Me being sick for so long and now this. I do try to keep in perspective though and I know there are much worse things that could happen. So I guess I am trying to say I should count my blessings and be happy nothing worse happened.

I am going to try and get around and visit. I want to catch up with everyone and hope you’re all doing well.

Big Hugs!!
