Three Day Weekend!

Oh good a nice three day weekend. Yesterday I ended up going to the Dr. because I guess I caught one of the colds from my girls. I called to see if I could get an appointment for today but they wanted me to come in right away yesterday. I live right around the corner so it isn't too far to go. The Dr. I was happy I came in because he said I have rattling in my chest and the pulmonary test he took showed spasams already in my lungs. So hopefully we caught it before it got worse. He was also going to put me on prednisone. I had a horrible reaction to that last spring (sunburn rash all over) so he couldn't put me on that again. He told me to take 2-3 breathing treatments a day till next week when he wants to see me back in the office. I'm happy I went because I would of really been stuck if I got worse over the weekend and he was closed Monday for the holiday.

Today, I slept in and I think that helped alot. I don't feel too bad right now but my thoat is hurting alot. I just have to drink lots of tea!! I had to take David to the orthodontist today for one of his follow-ups. That wasn't till 4:00 p.m. It was so busy when we got there. He said David should only have to wear his braces another 2-3 months. He put rubber bands on that go top to bottom to pull his teeth back just that little bit more that he needs.

The orthodontist is right near my sister Michelle's job so I stopped in to say hello and see how her ankle was doing. She said it still hurts quite a bit especially if she is on it alot but it is slowly getting better.

This weekend we are supposed to go to the Italian Feast but it looks like rain on Sunday so we will have to see. It will certainly do me no good walking around in the rain with a cold. I really don't need to have pneumonia again like last year.

Tonight, I just want to sit in an relax and watch some tv. Tonight is Ghost Whisperer, Close To Home and NUMB3RS.

Take Care!!
Hugs!

Chilly Morning

Brr...little chilly this morning....52 degrees.

Wednesday was pretty quiet. The kids were in school all day and then Alan stayed at the store late because we had a couple of friends of his that are comic book artists come in to do signings of their latest release. Afterward, they all went out to dinner. Alan didn't get home until almost 1o p.m. so the kids were already in bed sleeping and I was just sitting up watching tv.

The Dr.'s office called yesterday too. It seems they have to reschedule Alan for his shoulder surgery to Friday, Oct. 6th instead of the 4th. It's only a couple of days so it's not too terrible. Today we are going to the office so the Dr. who's operating call look over the MRI films one more time.

I also have to run to the book store and pick up a book for David "Crash" by Jerry Spinelli. A book for him to read for school.

This weekend we are going to the Italian Street Fair down the block from my parents house in Massapequa. It's really nice and we go every year. The weekend so far looks good.
Well got to run and get the kids up for school.

Hugs,

Twisted Ankle

Went over to my sisters yesterday. She made a wonderful chicken parmigiana. We had a yummy TCBY cake for LeeAnne's birthday. It was a nice evening. Though wen I got there, Michelle was limping because she took a spill the night before while wearing high heeled boots. She ended up twisting both ankles her left one worse than her right though. It looked pretty swollen and bruised. So today I went and picked her up and took her to the orthopedic I went to when I broke my hand last year. It was better than sitting in the emergency room and the Dr. has the x-ray machine right there. It came back as not broken which is good. She has a bad sprain and was put in an air-cast for a few weeks. She said it felt much better with the air-cast because it felt more supported so that was good. She has to stay off it as much as possible and give it time to heal.

Afterward, I dropped off Michelle and ran home and got home just in the nick of time to get Brittany and Kaylee off the bus. They were tired today from being out at my sisters last night. Not that we were there late but they are used to being home and ready for bed at that time. They came home pretty tired. Kaylee even fell asleep on the bus. Guess they will be going to sleep early tonight. Which is good, because Alan isn't feeling too great with his shoulder. He was tossing and turning and in a lot of pain all night long and woke up with it still hurting this morning. I sure hope the surgery helps his shoulder.

Well I am going to go and clean my kitchen and get dinner ready.. Alan will be closing the store soon and I want to have dinner ready.

Hugs!!

Lot's to Do Today

Today was pretty busy. Alan got up and ran out for some hot bagels. I just love onion bagels. Anyways... I had some shopping to do because I am going to my sister Michelle's today because it is LeeAnne's birthday which is her best friend. LeeAnne is like another sister in our family we have known her for so long. She is also the one pictured on the left who is doing the Avon Walk for Cancer...any help she would dearly appreciate.

I ran to Roosevelt Field Mall and went to Bloomingdales. I figured perfume would be good and since it is fall I got her a new fragrance DKNY Be Delicious gift set put out by Donna Karan New York. It is cute because it is in the shape of an apple and smells like apple as well but nice.

I ran also to a place near me called the Limited Edition and picked up a cute boyds cat in a pumpkin as well. It looked really cute and reminded me of LeeAnne's cat who's name is Spooky who is also a black cat.

They had so many cute other Boyd's there as well. I saw a Boyds scarecrow that is so cute. I may have to go back for that.

Well I am going to run....I am out the door in just a few minutes and have just enough time to get the kids ready. Hope your weekend was good!

Happy Fall Y'All

The week went by and Brittany and Kaylee are feeling much better. Now David, Alan and I have the sore throat and head cold. It always seems to pass through the whole family of course.

Alan had his appointment with the orthopedic doctor and since he has been in therapy for the past 6 months since the car accident with really no major improvement he has decided to do surgery on his shoulder for the tear in his rotocuff. It will be done on Oct. 3rd. It is an in and out procedure and a recuperation time with therapy of 4-6 weeks depending on how much work he has to do when he does the surgery. The good thing about this is he should be pain free and his shoulder will be repaired.

This weekend should be pretty quiet. I have been selected to be the class mom for Kaylee's class so I have to sit down this weekend and get some letters together to send home to the parents in her class. Also, I am going to my sister Michelle's on Sunday to have dinner for her friends birthday. Alan unfortunately, can't come because he already had plans to go to his friends house for a wrestling pay-per-view and to celebrate one of his friends birthday.

Other than that nothing elese too exciting... I may be working on my site some more. I got a cute new set I want to put up.

Well have a wonderful weekend!!

Hugs!!

Stressful Day Today

Well for a Monday it sure was stressful. Gee what's my life without drama....Uggh!! It's just been real hard making bills with Alan out of work on disability due to him having the car accident where he was rear ended and ended up with a rotator cuff tear in his shoulder and herniated discs in his neck. We talked to our lawyer today because Alan wanted to find out about going back to work and he explained alot of things to us. Needless to say, Alan will most likely be having surgery on his shoulder soon which stinks because he will be out of work for at least another estimated 8-10 weeks with recouperation time and more physical therapy afterwards. In the long run though, his shoulder will be repaired and the lawyer said his case is excellent and we will get something very substansital from it since Alan has no fault in the accident. He said the guy who hit Alan was covered way more than we would ever need. I just wish it was sooner rather than later. I know we will get though it just hate the rough patches but somehow things always work out.

Also, to top it all off the girls came down with colds on Sunday. They were fine when we went to the Bellmore Street Fair and then bang Sunday they woke up sick. They both ended up staying home from school already today with a cold and a fever. Brittany seems better this evening and Kaylee is still fighting it. Kaylee always takes a little longer to get over colds, don't know if that is because of he heart condition and the open heart surgeries she has had. She's a little fighter though!! I will take them to the pediatrician tomorrow if they are no better.

Just bounds of good news here huh. Hopefully it will all work out.

Hugs!

Was supposed to rain...

But since it's not so that's great...we are going to take a walk down to the annual Bellmore Street fair. They have lots for the kids, crafts, rides, it's a usually a really great day. David ( my oldest) goes mainly for the homemade pickles and these huge handmade braided pretzels. They are so good.

The past week has been mainly quiet, though I have noticed that my sister has made her way into my site dispite me changing the domain name. She tells me that she thinks my site stinks and that she will never visit it again and then hello there she is. My mom says maybe because she misses the kids. Oh well then...maybe do the right thing then. Though it's been so long and it has taken alot for me to get to the point I am at that I feel if she did do anything it would be too little to late. It really used to hurt and now I am at the point where I just don't feel anything about it anymore. It is what it is. It's sad it had to come to this but I cannot surround myself with people who are out to hurt me and my children anymore. I have to think about what I am going to do with the site. I hate to have to pw protect it but it may be my only option at this point. We'll see.

Well I am off. My mom will be here in a bit because she is going with us. Hope your all having a wonderful weekend.

Hugs!

School Picutres

Not too much going on the past couple of days. Which is not a bad thing. Kids are enjoying school so far. They finally started getting homework. Here are a few pictures I took on the first day of school last week.

My cousin Colleen also called me with some bad news yesterday. Her cat "C.C" (stands for Cool Cat) had to be put down yesterday. It seems the cats eye started to buldge out of her eye socket and when she took her to the vet and they took an x-ray they said their was an abcess behind her eye and a mass that looked like cancer/tumor and it didn't look good. The cat was almost 15 years old so Colleen, though it broke her heart to do it had to put down her fur baby. I sent her this below:

"C.C - 1992-2006"

To have loved and then said farewell, is better than to have never loved at all. For all of the times that you have stooped and touched my head, fed me my favorite treat and returned the love that I so unconditionally gave to you. For the care that you gave to me so unselfishly. For all of these things I am grateful and thankful.

You took me in when I needed a home and someone to love. All I ask now is that you not grieve for the loss, but rejoice in the fact that we lived, loved and touched each others lives for however long I lived. My life was fuller because you were there, not as a master/owner, but as my FRIEND.

Today I am as I was in my youth. The grass is always green, butterflies flit among the flowers and the Sun shines gently down upon all of God's creatures. I can run, jump, play and do all of the things that I did in my youth. There is no sickness, no aching joints and no regrets and no aging.

I will await the arrival of you my faithful companion and I know that togetherness is forever. You will live on in my heart as I will in yours. Companions such as you are so rare and unique. Don't hold the love that you have within yourself. Give it to another like me and then I will live forever. For love never really dies, and you are loved and missed as surely as I am.

Love, Your Pet In Heaven...."C.C."

Nice Weekend

& Windy

We had a very nice weekend. It sure felt good after the hoopla of last week with school starting. I was so worn out. Saturday we stayed in and I caught up on some cleaning and laundry and any other school papers I needed to fill out.

Saturday night, Alan and I watched a movie he picked up called "Crank" ....Ughh let me tell you I would rather do all the laundry in the world then to watch that movie...It just sucked really bad. If you watch it you'll feel as though you've just wasted a whole 83 minutes in your life. How it got 2 and a half stars in the reviews just surprised me.

Sunday was a beautiful day. The sun was shining and the humidity was gone. Ahh a nice 72 degrees!! Just perfect. My sister Michelle called me as asked if I wanted to come to the Merrick Street Fair which is right by me with her and my mom so I said yeah sure. We walked around and the kids went on the pony rides and some bouncy thing and then some carnival rides. Brittany and Kaylee each won nice big purple dogs at a couple of games they played (one with a little help from Aunt Michelle) David was playing the quarter game...you know the once where you drop a quarter in and it falls and hopefully pushes the others forward and some drop. He had a nice chunk of quarters and only from putting in a few dollars.

Let's see then we dropped off my sister by my house and my mom came with me to Petco to pick up a new filter pump for David's goldfish tank. It seems his must of died sometime between Friday and Saturday evening. Thankfully they weren't too expensive. He also picked out a couple of more fish for his other tropical tank. After we met Alan back at our house and we all went out to Friendly's.

Today is back to school. Their first full week. I hope it all goes well. Brittany decided she wanted to take the school bus to school everyday with her friend who is our neighbor next door. So at least she will have someone to ride with.

Talk soon!
