Colonial Bedroom Theme

So the theme of my bedroom will be a colonial theme.  It will look so nice with the new wood floor Alan is going to put down and the new furniture.

Bed:
I have chosen for my bed a nice colonial collection the Williamsburg Brighton Red Quilt from C&F Enterprises pictured on the left.  The quilt has a white background with delicate toile designs in red.

Furniture:

Broyhill Glenmore Set which has a nice honey borwn color.  We bought it at Raymoure & Flanigan.  We got the dresser and mirror, tall dresser, side tables and bed.

Desk:

Liked this desk a lot and the color and style I thing goes well with the theme.  It will hold my 27inch IMac which we use in our room for a computer and television.

Now I have to work on some prints for the room and lamps...I really like the primitive saltbox prints by Dotty Chase and Warren Kimble.  Slowly it should all come together.

Puppy and Redecorating

Took 11 week old Bella to the Vet today.  She still has a little cold but is feeling much better.  She even gained an ounce...she is now 2.6lbs. She also got her new pet tag in the mail.  I Love these pet tags.  Molly has one as well.  It is from Animal Stars If you click on the link, on the page where they sell the tags along with some famous doggies is my dog Molly at 10 weeks old on the bottom right with her pet tag that they use for advertising.  They are a little pricey but divided out over the next 10+ years you have your dog it really isn't so bad.  Bella is doing well with potty training.  She is pretty much wee wee pad trained already...she looks for the pad and goes.  I would have preferred to train directly outside like I did with Molly (I had her trained in a week or two) but Bella had the cold so I couldn't plus all the snow.  Poor little girl would have been lost.

Alan and I are getting ready to do some big cleaning out of our bedroom getting rid of it all and starting fresh.  I am still a little torn on the color of the bedroom which we will be painting next weekend. I think I will do a more neutral warm color.  I also am going to look into putting down a wood floor in the bedroom as opposed to the plush rug.  With my asthma it is really not the best idea to have a rug so maybe just a big area rug that I am able to clean under.  Rugs really do hold lots of dust in them.  I have a Dyson and what comes up even if I vacuum every day is so gross.  We will go and look into all of this on Tuesday when Alan is off.  In my last post I put a picture of the bedroom set.  I am looking tonight at some nice quilt sets for the room.  If I find one I will post it here.   The Country Porch has some really nice ones that are made very well...cotton and cotton filled not that polyester fill stuff you find in some stores.

Hope everyone is having a good week... :0)

Updates...

Alan and I are getting ready to redo our bedroom.  It hasn't had a made-over in a long time.  I am in the process of gutting out the room a little at a time.  The furniture we have now is starting to fall apart.  It was handed down from Alan's grandparents.  We went out and found Broyhill Furniture that we love.  We still have to pick out and paint and the bedroom and pick out carpeting.  Not exactally sure what colors we will choose yet.

Tomorrow, we are going to New Jersey for a funeral.  Alan's cousin (on the right) passed away suddenly due to a brain hemmorage he was in his early 50's and had 3 beautiful girls and a wife he is leaving behind.  So very sad and shocking.  Loosing someone like this really makes you think how much you need to appreciate those in your life you love.  You never know what tomorrow will bring and being angry with someone is just not worth it.  All the more reason to be able to forgive and not hold grudges towards people.  Something I have choose not to do.  It is not worth it.  We are here to love each other and be able to forgive.  Sadly, there are still people from my life that can't find this for themeselves.  How sad it is they have distanced themselves from family and friends and choose not to live life to it's fullest celebrating those they love.  They don't realize they are only hurting themselves.

Our Family Is Growing

This week the kids have been off this week for winter recess and we have been enjoying that time together.  We went Wednesday and brought home a cute little tri-colored Cavalier King Charles puppy named "Bella Joy"  (Bella means beautiful in Italian) Bella also mean's "God's Promise".

Bella is just 10 weeks today! She is so tiny...but has such a sweet disposition.  Here she is: (she actually looks bigger in the picture)

We are just so excited to have her!  The kids are enjoying her so much....nothing like breaking up fights over who has the puppy next.  Molly our other Cavalier  is a little jelous but I know with time she will loosen up and love Bella as much as we do already.

I can't wait for the weather to warm up a bit so we can start enjoying some nice walks together!  Spring is just around the corner!
